New Yorkers are the trendsetters we look to for setting the fashion standards years after year, and this year is no exception. TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest have been blowing up our feeds with this spring’s hottest new trends off the streets of New York.
Let’s take a look at what street styles the humans of New York are rocking and how you can elevate your outfit to the next level.
- Lilac, Mint Green, and Pastel Pink
In case the nineties weren’t scary enough in terms of fashion, we’re now seeing a resurgence of late-nineties and Y2K clothing color palettes. Pastels in all forms—plaids, pleated skirts, cardigans, and matching sets are all setting the fashion stage this spring.
We’ll be seeing a lot of pastels carried out throughout footwear and accessories, too. Think: pastel-tinted sunglasses, pastel accents on sneakers, and more.
- Oversized Menswear
Blazers and trousers are here to stay this year. The rise in straight-legged and relaxed jeans have helped high-waisted trousers become more popular (and comfortable) whether in the office or walking around the city.
We’re seeing a blend of pastel colors in menswear as well, so don’t be surprised if you see someone rocking a very bright suit in public very soon.
- White Boots
White boots came and yet pretty quickly in the late 2010’s, but now we’re seeing a comeback. Fashion-conscious people are styling their white boots with biker shorts and hoodies for a toned-down, casual look. For a bit of Western flair, opt for a white pair of cowboy boots which are definitely having a moment.
